Using postgre for failover with master-master replication

Hi all WebNMS developers,

WebNMS is officially distributed with postgre database since version 5.2.

Is anyone using this solution in production environment?
How does postgre scale up compared to MySQL?
Do you have some solution for master-master replication between two instances of postgre?

Regarding the last question - we are testing data replication on the filesystem level using drbd, because it seems that there is no other solution for that, but maybe I am wrong, that is why I am asking here.

I wonder if everyone is using WebNMS with mysql or Oracle database in their production environment.

So far it seems to me that mysql became prohibitively expensive since it has been taken over by Oracle - the current price is $2000/year/server, which is, if I remember correctly, about 10x more what it used to be three years ago.

Sales representative at Oracle even did not bother to send me a reply to my query about some affordable pricing scheme :)

So back to my original question - how do you solve master-master replication with postgre?

Any will to share magic rsync script shipping WALs that fast that postgre does not notice? :) Anyone?

It seems that I have a working solution for HA with postgre. More testing is required, but so far it works as expected.

Am I the only one who is using postgre and HA for WebNMS?
