As per the WebNMS guide, If argument change_password_for_firsttime_login in NmsProcessesBE.conf file, is set to true than user will be forced to change user password on first login. But this is not working .
Do I need to configure something else also except the parameter ????
Please ensure the following: 1. Once after configuring this parameter, WebNMS server is restarted 2. The user is created only after restarting the server.
One popular misconception which does not work in this regard is as follows: I created a user 'test' after which I change this parameter to true & restart the server (till now I had not logged in as test) Now when I login as test, I expect that I will be asked to changed password. At the same time, when you now create a user master and login with the credentials of master, you will be asked to change the password (on first login)
Please note that, you will not be asked to change password in the above manner. (i.e) change_password_for_firsttime_login should have been true, at the time of user creation.
We believe this answers your query. If you find any contradiction in behaviour w.r..t the above, please send us the following: 1. conf/securitydbData.xml at that time 2. Name of the user for whom the password change does not pops up.
