We are glad to announce the release of version 5 of Web NMS framework. Web NMS 5 is the major release which comes with enhancements that focus on improving development productivity, performance, and scalability. Release Highlights

* Hibernate based persistence framework for object modeling, connection pooling, caching, and transactions for all core modules.
* WebNMS Studio based on Eclipse IDE with support for complete project life-cycle including object modeling, packaging and NAR creation wizards.
* Distributed architecture in the polling engine.
* Support for JDK 1.6, Tomcat 5.5, Windows Vista, RedHat Linux Enterprise 5.0 and MySQL 5.

Other Major Features

* Enhanced Status Polling framework.
* Support for complete deployment of Web NMS BE & FE servers in JBoss.
* Rich options for monitoring & managing JVM, application metrics such as rate of polling, data collection, CPU and memory usage, etc...
* Support for PostgreSQL and MSSQL database, apart from MySQL, Oracle, and Sybase.
* Login Logout mechanism - By registering an observer, the user is notified when there is a Login / Logout, User Enable / Disable, etc.
* Log4j as the default logging mechanism.
* Enhanced Web client.
* Map blinking feature - Map symbol LED blink notifies the status changes of MO.
* Integrated Map view with Events, Alerts, and customer tabs.
* Status propagation upto client tree level.
* Audio notifications for fault notifications.

Can I apply a path over 4.7 + SP 3 to make it NMS 5?

Hi LSP,

As Web NMS 5 is a major release, there is no patch available to directly upgrade to Web NMS 5. However you can migrate your project to Web NMS 5. Please refer to the migration guide for more details on the migration process.
